Integrated Science Note: If the Integrated Science office needs to communicate with you via e-mail before classes start, we will continue to use the address you supplied on your Integtrated Science Application Form unless you notify us that you would prefer that we use your Dalhousie e-mail address.
Other Computing Services
Once you have activated your email and received your netID, check out the myDal portal at my.dal.ca. Other computing services are also available to you by checking http://ucis.dal.ca/index.html.
Admission Deposit
Once you have been accepted, you must confirm your offer of admission by forwarding a non-refundable $200 admission deposit. This deposit will be credited toward your tuition fees when you register.
On-campus Accommodations
If you are interested in living on campus, you will need to complete a Residence Application. The opportunities and descriptions of the residence facilities together with the application form will be available on the web site in early 2011. Until they are online, one will be included with your letter of admission. You can check the Residence web site at http://www.dal.ca/residence. Your $200 admission deposit must be received before your residence application can be processed so it is best to confirm early! For students interested in living off campus, check the web site at www.dal.ca/och.
Financial Aid and Scholarships
Dalhousie has an outstanding financial aid program. New Dalhousie students accepted direct from high school may be considered for both entrance scholarships and bursaries. Normally, no additional application form is required for he entrance scholarships which are based primarily on academic achievement. The bursary program is open to all registered students and the selection criteria are based on financial need. For some, a demonstrated need as well as academic achievement are the criteria. Entrance awards are announced in mid-April to eligible students who apply for admission by March 15. A completed application consists of: application, fee, transcripts, and a list of second semester classes. The fall bursary program opens in October.
Students with Special Needs
If you have a physical or learning disability or require special arrangements or services, you should contact Student Accessibility Services at (902) 494-2836 or e-mail access@dal.ca. While the University is committed to providing equal opportunities for qualified students with disabilities, we may not be able to fulfill all special needs. Early consultation is advised. Please refer to http://studentaccessibility.dal.ca/ for details. Medical or psycho-educational documentation may be required.
The Dalhousie Learning Connections
You can access your Dalhousie e-mail account, your library record, online course software and receive campus announcements - all in one place! Use the Learning Connections (my.dal.ca) to discover important information about finding a place to live, getting settled, choosing your classes and starting your term. Learning Connections messages will be sent to you throughout the year to connect you with people, programs and services when you're most likely to need them!
